International Youth Day!

International Youth Day is observed every year on the 12th of August. This day has been marked to bring issues affecting youth to the attention of the international community and to celebrate the potential of contributions of youth to society.

International youth day was founded in 1999 by the United Nations. This day is still so important in 2026 because young people are still experiencing challenges with education, employment and mental health.

Now more than ever we need to listen to young people because youth activism drives movements for equality and human rights. This year the focus is on quality education, employment, reduced inequalities, climate action and justice.

These topics are very relevant as they disproportionately affect young people and gives the opportunity to collaborate with youth to find solutions.
