Beach Sculptures at Weymouth!

Weymouth Group worked with Katherine the sustainability officer from Weymouth council to create a beach waste sculpture that is being displayed on Weymouth promenade. The young people, youth workers and Katherine collected beach waste and turned them into colourful fish and ocean creatures which Katherine mounted in a fishing net to high-light the beach waste and the effects it has on the ocean. The young people called this "Catch of the Day". it was a great way for the young people to work with the local community, get involved in the environmental impact of waste on our oceans and to do some recycling! It also helps promote Space Youth Project to the residents and visitors of Weymouth.  The installation got a lot of positive interest as it was being installed, with some interest in Space as well. The young people really enjoyed working with Katherine and Katherine enjoyed working with them
