At Poole group, the young people had a competition on who could make the most and high-quality thank you cards in order to win some stickers or a soft toy. The thank you cards get sent out every time we've received some funding or donations from individuals or organisations - having them come straight from the young people is so meaningful! The competition was tough but one young person got to walk away a winner!
The young people at Sherborne wanted to have a go at making their own paper dolls, whether that was themselves or a fictional character! It was a very fun activity that got everyone's inner creative coming out and the outcomes were super fun to play with!
At our bigger groups, we always get started with an icebreaker! This helps current members to talk outside of their friends and get to know some of the other young people as well as making it easier for new young people to get to know everyone! This one at Bournemouth involved throwing a ball to a random person while saying their name correctly. This was a good activity to help young people (and the team sometimes!) remember other young people's names. Then the young people were split into smaller groups to play two truths and a lie!
