At Bournemouth group they started the evening with a fun ice breaker that was led by a volunteer. The young people were split into groups and played spot the difference One person turned around and the rest of the group changed something about themselves then the person turned back round and guessed what was different. They also talked in the groups and came up with something out of the ordinary that they had in common, and fed it back to the other groups. They then got creative decorating placards for Pride which was a lot of fun.

As part of Space Youth Projects commitment to the National Literacy Trust Campaign Go All In we are doing a Book Bingo at each group! This will encourage young people to read books that are usually outside their normal reading tastes or even pick up a book for the first time. At SYP we want our young people to continue to enjoy reading and / or start reading as it is such an important and enjoyable pastime. Good luck groups and get reading!
We were invited to Dorset County Hospital's "Mini Pride" as part of Dorchester's Pride month. We had a great day!
All the hospital staff were lovely and very welcoming. We met a lot of people and got to spread the word about our free youth groups. We had some lovely feedback from a parent who's son used to go to Poole group and sometimes Bournemouth. He is still friends with people he met at Space. Everyone was really impressed with the big patchwork banner. In all it was a very successful day and the promoters were already asking if we will go back next year!
