World Sexual Health Day

World Sexual Health Day is observed every year on the 4th September, when communities, health professionals, researchers, and educators come together to spread awareness about the importance of sexual health.

Launched in 2010 by the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS), the day aims to reduce fears and stigma, educate, and promote “recognizing sexual health within a human rights framework.” (WAS, 2026)

This year’s theme, Every Body, reminds us that absolutely everyone deserves to feel safe and comfortable in their body.

To have their boundaries and choices respected.

To be informed about their health and pleasure.

To have access to education, healthcare, support. freedom, without exception.

This September 4th, consider taking action to promote sexual health in your life or community: chat to a friend, set a boundary, compliment yourself in the mirror, get tested for STIs, Google a question you have about your body or ask someone you trust.

Remember that we all deserve respect, health and wellbeing. Everyone, of all ages, gender, sexuality, race, religion, and ability…Every body.
