Recently, myself and six other members of Space Youth Project attended an ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) training course done by Dorset Youth Association. This course allowed us to become young leaders to support Space and learn new skills. After the 2-day course we will complete 60 hours of volunteering and I feel this is a wonderful opportunity to give back to Space and to develop my abilities.
Throughout the course we learnt different icebreakers, various activities, rules around safeguarding and about different leadership styles. At the end of day two we all left feeling a sense of achievement and with new friendships. I would like to thank Lilly from Dorset Youth Association for providing this experience and allowing us to learn something new whilst having fun.
