At Poole group we had Baz and Louisa from Poetry The Story Works come and deliver a creative writing workshop with our young people who really enjoyed the session and some of their work will be published in a document the Poetry The Story Works are working on. The SYP team were blown away by the creativeness of the young people. See a couple of examples below.

Home away from house
Behind the bush, behind the eyes in the forest
An open space of bliss and calm.
Trees which provide a roof for a guest,
Old broken logs which share a seat
The cat that visits, much like a ghost
It always reminded me that I love most.
Behind the bush in forest. In the lands of calm.
Or surrounded by bushes in a garden.
The calm chaos I’ve always loved.
The ghost of the cat or the ghost of love.
This forest has one for us.
Jump over the gap of the earth,
Walk further into the past.
A forest is like a garden cat and all.
In the opening push into the bushes again.
Find a home of tree-like roofs and log-like seats.
Share the bliss with yourself, or bring a friend.
This calm can’t end.

Hospitals. They take away my mum. They keep her. She goes in, in that loud painful machine. The one that carries dying people to the place they’ll take their final breath. I hope she doesn’t take hers. I can’t do anything any more, it’s in their hands. I have gone to sleep in a quiet, sad house, her presence gone. I have to be strong. A reminder of her helps me to sleep, her perfume on a toy maybe. Also helps me cry. One day. She will come home.

For the young people that didn't want to do creative writing they opted to make some jewellery
