Its almost Asexual Awareness Week!

Asexual Awareness Week is coming up! It falls between the 25th October and the 31st October this year. ‘Someone who is asexual experiences little to no sexual attraction.’ (Healthline, 2021). People who are asexual sometimes describe themselves as ‘ace’, and asexuality is a spectrum, meaning that each individual who identifies as asexual experiences their sexuality differently.

Asexuality Awareness Week was created in 2010 as ‘an annual event that puts asexuality in the spotlight. Part celebration of the progress we’ve made as a community, and part campaign for greater understanding and acceptance of asexual-spectrum identities. Ace Week is a time to focus on all things ace’ (Ace Week, 2020). So, this Asexual Awareness Week, make sure to educate yourself on the ace spectrum, especially from individuals who are asexual themselves, and enjoy the week!
