We had a great day at Chesil Pride on Saturday despite it getting very hot in the afternoon! Our stall looked fab and was very popular so we have raised a good amount of money for Space. Lisa from The drop in got all her LGBT+ young people to come and meet us and we really promoted the new Portland group.
We promoted our Weymouth, Dorchester and Bridport groups. Nat spoke to a young person for Bridport group who is 13 so will fit well with the other member. And had a lot of interest for Weymouth group.
We also had young people interested in Bournemouth and Poole groups.
I met an ex member from Dorchester group came over to say hello. They were really pleased to see me and we had a good catch up chat and they are really doing very well.
Steph our fab supernova was wonderful doing the glitter tattoos and said they really enjoyed themselves, it was nice to get out and it was fun.
I introduced Nat to the deputy mayor as he lives on Portland.
A couple of young people who have come to Portland group came over to say hello.
Debs had her stall there and helped us structuring our flag to stay up.
Wagamama's have taken lots of our leaflets to go around their venues and had them on their food stall all day.
Naomi came to our stall and she is going to be in touch about doing a poetry session at Weymouth group as Lyds said they were inspired by the Proud poetry night.
We were busy for the whole day with a constant stream of visitors to the stall The atmosphere was brilliant, a lovely atmosphere of joy and kindness.
We made a good team and raised £183 for Space - written by Jane, a youth worker
