Why should I leave a gift in my will to Space Youth Project?

Thank you for considering leaving a gift to Space Youth Project in your will. Please read the information below for answers to any questions you may have about making this special gift.

If you need any more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Your legacy can help ensure that we can continue to make Dorset the best place to grow up for LBGTQ+ young people.

Your friends and family will naturally be first in your thoughts when making a Will, but many people take the opportunity to leave a gift to a charity they have supported through their lifetime, or one that has had a personal impact on them, or a member of their family.

Even though social attitudes towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and questioning (LBGT+) people are changing for the better, there is still a rising demand for support work as we see more young people seeking help on a regular basis and at points of crisis in their lives, often as a result of the painful impact of discrimination, rejection and isolation. It is important to them to have a safe space where anyone is welcome regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Space Youth Project runs regular youth groups across Dorset for LBGT+ young people. Alongside our group youth work, we also offer1-to-1 and family support, school-based workshops for primary children and training for professionals to ensure that we create, not only an inclusive present, but an inclusive future too. Your legacy could help us to continue supporting them when they most need it.

Leaving a gift in your Will is a very personal decision and you are under no obligation to tell us about your gift...however, if you feel able to, we'd love to keep you up to date with our work so that you're safe in the knowledge that your gift will have a lasting impact.

“We have been very lucky to receive legacy donations in the wills of some supporters and we are very grateful.

We rely on the support of individuals to keep our youth work services running, a gift in your Will would have a direct impact on the lives of vulnerable LBGTQ+ young people across Dorset, helping us sustain our work, and supporting many more young people in the future.”
